Personal Statement - Nazanin Ehsani, MD, MPH

I entered the field of medicine because I wanted to positively influence the lives of women. As I began my work in Obstetrics & Gynecology, I saw how gratifying helping women could be and wanted to do even more. I found that something more in the field of Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery.

Urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse are life altering conditions in a woman's life. Being able to diagnose and correct these conditions, both medically and surgically, is extremely gratifying. I feel that I have helped the women I care for in a profound way and in many cases have given them their life back.

As a fellow at the Institute of Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery, I have the opportunity to learn "cutting-edge" procedures. Furthermore, being able to train with a group of excellent and dedicated physicians is a unique and exciting opportunity for me.

When I'm not at work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I play the piano and enjoy music, exercising and traveling abroad. I am fluent in several languages and take great pleasure in familiarizing myself with different cultures.
