Dr. Lucente tours the South Pacific to teach new surgical Procedures

August 7, 2007

In a recent nine day tour this July, Dr. Lucente visited Auckland, New Zealand and Melbourne and Sydney Australia. His visit focused on teaching new surgical procedures for pelvic organ prolapse and female urinary incontinence. During his time in the South Pacific he performed over 20 surgeries and taught hundreds of physicians.

His visit culminated lecturing and performing live telesurgery at the AAVIS 9th Annual Scientific Meeting in Sydney. Dr. Lucente was one of only nine international faculty invited to join the 49 member faculty panel and one of only two physicians invited from the United States. “While tours like this can be exhausting, it is gratifying to know that thousands of women will benefit from these new technology advances,” Dr. Lucente remarked. “I am also always fascinated learning things from new cultures and the growth it enables me in both my personal and professional life.”
